In the third quarter of this year, just like the second, we observed significant judicial decisions in Nigeria and other jurisdictions addressing various critical issues. Our appellate courts made bold decisions that clarified recondite areas of law.
Notably, the Supreme Court resolved longstanding controversies on key constitutional matters and issued verdicts informed by public policy considerations.
Similarly, justices in other jurisdictions pushed the boundaries of the law with important rulings spanning labour issues, fundamental rights and criminal matters. We saw a noteworthy decision regarding sovereign immunity in the context of international arbitration.
