Biography
Bisi is a Partner and Head of the Dispute Resolution Practice at the Firm. He has close to 20 years experience in high- value, complex disputes, and is widely regarded as a formidable advocate and strategic advisor to leading corporations, financial institutions, and multinationals operating across Nigeria and beyond.
He regularly represents top-tier domestic and international clients across industries and acts in some of the most challenging and commercially significant arbitration and litigation matters in the country, with a strong focus on financial services, energy, infrastructure, mining, and corporate governance. His expertise spans international and domestic arbitration, commercial litigation, capital markets disputes, white-collar crime, fraud investigations, and regulatory enforcement actions.
Bisi has advised on industry defining mandates such as consolidated international arbitrations involving claims exceeding half a billion dollars against a sovereign state, novel procedural strategies such as relocating the seat of arbitration and applying bespoke procedural rules. He also acted in a multi-million-dollar appeal involving a multinational oil and gas company in a contractual dispute over helicopter operations and is currently representing a mining company in precedent-setting litigation testing the limits of state versus federal control over mining regulation in Nigeria.
Recognised by IFLR1000 as “Notable Practitioner” and named among Africa’s Top 50 Young Arbitration Practitioners, Bisi has been described as a “Recommended Partner” by The Legal 500, in recognition of his growing influence in commercial litigation and arbitration. Bisi previously served with distinction as Chairman of the Lagos Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, Nigeria’s largest and most active bar Association.
