Biography
Amazing is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution and Government Business practices, and co-leads the Firm’s Arbitration team.
He has acted as counsel in arbitrations under the rules of leading international arbitral institutions and regularly represents clients before Nigerian courts — including the Supreme Court — in matters involving complex commercial relationships with significant international dimensions.
Amazing also frequently advises clients on public-law issues at the intersection of government powers, private rights and corporate obligations.
He has acted for clients in a wide variety of contentious matters across key economic sectors, including international trade, information technology, telecommunications, construction, energy and finance.
Recent highlights of his expertise include advising an IOC in connection with claims in excess of USD 600 million for the supply of petroleum products to a Southern African state; representing a regional economic bloc in international arbitration arising from a cross-border supply contract; and representing a foreign investment company in simultaneous LCIA arbitrations concerning an investment of about USD25 million in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
