The Central Bank of Nigeria recently released an Exposure Draft on the Guidelines on the Operations of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in Nigeria, 2025 (the Exposure Draft). The Exposure Draft introduces significant updates to the governance and operational standards of ATMs. If issued, it is intended to supersede the requirements on ATM operations contained in the Guidelines for the Operations of Electronic Payment Channels in Nigeria 2020 and all previous ATM regulations.
