Biography

Collins Akinade is a highly skilled legal practitioner with deep expertise in dispute resolution, regulatory advisory, and commercial litigation. He has acted for a broad range of clients, including multinational corporations, government agencies, financial institutions, and state governments. His practice spans across civil and commercial litigation, arbitration, compliance, and insolvency matters.

 

Relevant Experience

  • Successfully defended a multinational company in civil forfeiture proceedings against the Federal Government of Nigeria involving over $50 Million in a disputed oil well transaction.
  • Representing a global consortium at the Federal High Court, Lagos over the concession and renovation of a National Monument of the Federal Government
  • Advised and represented the Nigerian Electricity Regulation Commission (NERC) in disputes arising from its operations
  • Member of team that successfully recovered over $500m as excess/unwarranted deductions arising from Paris club loans on behalf of several state governments including Rivers State, Katsina and Enugu State
  • Instituted and obtained judgment against the Lagos State Government to the tune of over N300 Million at the Federal High Court as compensation for demolition of property
