Opeyemi is an Senior Associate in the Technology, Innovation and Fintech practice group of the Firm where she advises global leading card schemes, payment processors, cryptocurrency companies, among others on various transborder issues. She routinely advises on product advisory, data protection, anti-money laundering, regulatory compliance, corporate restructuring, transaccorporate governance and intellectual property, among others.

 

Relevant Experience

• Advised on the Series C investment of up to $130 million in Moniepoint Inc providing comprehensive legal due diligence and regulatory review exercise on the target’s Nigerian subsidiaries (the Microfinance Bank and its switch Company) to assess the potential risks and legal compliance issues
• Acted as Nigerian counsel to Prosus Group (a global investment group and the ultimate beneficiary owner (UBO) of PayU Nigeria Limited, a payment gateway service provider in Nigeria) in respect of Rapyd’s acquisition of PayU’s global payments
• Advising a hybrid mutual insurance scheme on its capital raise positioning
• Advised a VC fund of a global mobility company with its first seed investment in Nigeria, made in a Nigerian and Canada-based insurance technology company (Sabee)
