Biography

Ibishope is a transactional lawyer and ESG compliance strategist with expertise in advising local and international lenders, borrowers, and sponsors on the financing and development of power and infrastructure projects. Her practice covers a broad range of matters including debt and equity financing, project structuring, and security arrangements. She provides strategic legal advisory on ESG compliance, supporting clients in aligning transactions with sustainability goals and regulatory expectations.   • Part of the Team advising the Federal Government of Nigeria Power Company Limited (FGNPC) on the implementation of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI)
  • Key member of the team that advised on the issuance of the USD650,000,000 9.125% Rule 144A/Reg S Senior Notes by Seplat Energy Plc
  • Key member of the team that advised the Energy Company of the Future in connection with its USD$18 million Climate Funds Manager partnership related to a power purchase agreement for the purpose of powering the largest brewery company in Nigeria in achieving its 100% renewable energy target
  • Key member of the team that reviewed the historical funding structures adopted by the Infrastructure Credit Guarantee Company Limited (InfraCredit) in collaboration with the World Bank for the purpose of proposing an optimal structure for the set-up of a distributable renewable energy enhancement facility for the financing of distributable renewable energy projects in Nigeria
  • Advised BUA Group in connection with the grant of a term facility of up to USD$500 million by the International Finance Corporation and other lenders for the construction of a 120 MW gas-fired power plant and a 10 MW renewable energy plant
  • Key member of the team advising a multi-national oil and gas company in Nigeria on its ESG practices and sustainability reporting
  • Part of the team that advised Saba Energy Limited in connection with the acquisition of 25 mini-grid assets from an existing operator, the target company
  • Part of the team that advised Stanbic IBTC Asset Management on the N6 billion financing of the 11MW power plant in Oyo state owned by Ibadan Hybrid Power Limited
  • Advised Kasada GP Limited in connection with the review of certain financing documents in relation to the term loan in the sum of N5 billion by the Bank of Industry and the guarantee facility granted by the FirstRand Bank Limited equal to the aggregate amount of the term loan
  • Advised First Bank of Nigeria Limited with respect to the grant of term loan facilities covering the sum of N33 billion to Geregu Plc and Amperion Power Distribution Company Limited for the purpose of refinancing the facilities provided by Fidelity Bank
  • Advised a syndicate of lenders on the financing and the development of the 450MW open cycle gas-fired Azura IPP in Edo State
  • Advised Chapel Hill Denham Nigeria Infrastructure Debt Fund in connection with the financing of the Starsight Energy Africa Holding Limited project
