Biography

Esther is an Associate in the Firm’s Oil and Gas practice group, bringing a dynamic, commercially driven and approach to her work. She deploys her legal expertise towards advising domestic and international clients across the entire oil and gas value chain. A summa cum laude graduate of both the Nigerian law school and Osun State University, Esther routinely provides legal advisory on landmark matters including corporate financing, project financing as well as mergers and acquisitions, particularly in the Nigerian oil and gas sector. Her experience also includes advising clients on navigating the Nigerian regulatory landscape, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and facilitating the development of an automated regulatory compliance tracking system – a tool that has become essential for oil and gas companies in Nigeria.

Relevant Experience

  • Advising a syndicate of lenders involving development financial institutions on the c. USD 3 billion facility granted for the purpose of financing the construction of the Dangote Petrochemical and Refinery Complex.
  • Providing ongoing legal advisory services to Anoh Gas Processing Company Limited in relation to the 300mmscf/d Assa North/Ohaji gas processing plant.
  • Advised NNPC Limited and Project Gazelle Funding Limited on a landmark USD 3.3 billion crude oil prepayment facility involving a consortium comprising of Africa Export-Import Bank, Gunvor International B.V. and Sahara Resources Limited.
  • Advised the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission on the development of post PIA regulations including the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Advance Cargo Declaration Regulations and the Nigerian Significant Oil and Gas Discovery Regulations.
